It's official folks: summer is over. What a strange summer it has been. If I was living in Fargo, I would be concerned that I had an even colder winter ahead of me. Luckily, living in San Diego, I am pretty confident that the 'sunshine tax' will kick in at some point, and even though the days may be shorter and the air crisper, the chance of a big snow storm in January is something even I would not bet on.
The good news is we have next summer to look forward to, and the clear fall and winter San Diego days. I am no mathematician but I think the law of averages pretty much guarantees that we will not have another cool summer like this one for ~77 years and by then we will all be lucky to notice.

Um...like the style of your writing.
