I used to run alot. Like 6 days a week. It was the only form of exercise I did and although I was in great running shape I remember wondering why my arms were flabby. Now I run about 3 days a week. I also swim, spin and yoga. I am in decent shape, but not tip top marathon shape. But I signed up for the La Jolla Half Marathon which happens to be this weekend. The goal was to get me motivated to run a little more and maybe try to have a decent race - we will see how it goes on Sunday.
There have been many cold mornings where the idea of running anywhere seemed all too - COLD! I am fully aware that I have turned into a wimp living out here. In San Diego, we do not know what cold is, but still this is my reality and it IS cold to me. Most runners will tell you that it is much better to run in cooler weather vs. warmer. That's where this little half marathon race comes in. For the first time in a long time, the weekend temperatures are predicted to be above 80. Of course everyone who is not running this weekend is excited about the possibilities of outdoor EVERYTHING. As for the runners, we will be running in a Spring time heat wave - and once again I am realizing what a wimp I have become from living out here! Good luck to all the runners on Sunday - see you at the finish line in the beer tent.

At least now I have my excuse er reason for being slow...the heat!
